I have to say, Ireland is setting the bar high for current Horror. This is the 3rd or 4th Irish, independent horror-movie I’ve seen in the past year, and it did NOT disappoint! Having visited, and fallen in love, with Ireland a few years ago, this film showcases a Cliff Notes version of the Emerald-Isle’s beautiful landscapes. The story starts off semi-innocently enough, and after the initial onset of creepy, it moves you through a nightmare of epic proportions. I was literally on the edge of my seat, holding my breath, for at least one scene. That has NEVER happened to me!
The actors are compelling, the directing is wonderful, the story is original, and the “creatures”…holy mother of all fucks! I thought the ending should have happened 10 minutes sooner, but it wasn’t terrible, and I am overlooking it because the rest of the film was so fantastic!
